 All The Pope's Men

All The Pope’s Men

$191.47

A fascinating and enlightening look at the world’s oldest and most mysterious institution, written by an American journalist with unparalleled knowledge about the Vatican’s past and present. The sexual abuse scandals that shook American and British Catholicism in 2002 brought to light a long-standing cultural gap between the English-speaking Catholic world and the Vatican. In Rome, the crisis was often seen as an attack on the Church mounted by money-hungry lawyers, a hostile press, and liberal activists who used it as a way to turn attention on such concerns as celibacy, women’s ordination, and lay empowerment. When the Vatican struck down the U.S. bishops’ draft for handling allegations of sexual abuse, many saw it as an attempt to curb an independent American Catholic church. Yet, as time passed, it became clear that the Vatican’s well-founded concerns about due process were shared by most liberal U.S. bishops and canon lawyers. ALL THE POPE’S MEN is a lucid, in-depth guide to the sometimes puzzling, often incomprehensible inner workings of the Vatican. It reveals how decisions are made, how papal bureaucrats think, and how careers in the Roman Curia are shaped. It debunks the myths that have fed the distrust and suspicions many English-speaking Catholics harbor about the way the Vatican conducts its business, explains who really wields the power, and offers entertaining profiles of the personalities, historical and present-day, who have wielded that power for good and for bad. A thoughtful analysis of the recent sexual abuse crisis sheds light on how the Vatican perceives the Church in the United States. Balanced, lively, and filled with Vatican history and lore, ALLTHE POPE’S MEN provides the general reader with an authoritative picture of the highly charged relationship between the Vatican and the richest, most influential national Catholic church in the world today.

 Secret Dialogues

Secret Dialogues

$25.95

Secret Dialogues uncovers an unexpected development in modern Latin American history: the existence of secret talks between generals and Roman Catholic bishops at the height of Brazil’s military dictatorship. New archival sources demonstrate that the church sought to retain its privileges and influence by exploring a potential alliance with the military. From 1970 to 1974 the secret Bipartite Commission worked to resolve church-state conflict and to define the boundary between social activism and subversion. As the bishops increasingly made defense of human rights their top pastoral and political goal, the Bipartite became an important forum of protest against torture and social injustice.Based on more than 60 interviews and primary sources from three continents, Secret Dialogues is a major addition to the historical narrative of the most violent yet, ironically, the least studied period of the Brazilian military regime. Its story is intertwined with the central themes of the era: revolutionary warfare, repression, censorship, the fight for democracy, and the conflict between Catholic notions of social justice and the anticommunist Doctrine of National Security.Secret Dialogues is the first book of its kind on the contemporary Catholic Church in any Latin American country. It is written for undergraduate and graduate students, professional scholars, and the general reader interested in Brazil, Latin America, military dictatorship, human rights, and the relationship between religion and politics.

Toward a Catholic Theology of Nationality

Toward a Catholic Theology of Nationality

$83.99

Dorian Llywelyn”s wide-ranging book introduces the reader to contemporary approaches to nationality, nationality, national identity, nationalism and patriotism. Drawing from the insights of sociology, history, and anthropology, he investigates the many ways in which nations and Christianity have intertwined and explores what scripture and twentieth-century papal teaching have to say on the matter. He provides an original, Catholic theology of national belonging, one which is based on the implications of the Incarnation.

Toward a Catholic Theology of Nationality

Toward a Catholic Theology of Nationality

$79.99

Nationality continues to be an important part of how people identify themselves and others. “Who am I?” is inseparable from the question “Who and what are we?” Historically, many nations have made use of the Bible and Christian notions to understand themselves and to justify their political ambitions. Catholic theology, however, has never elaborated on a systematic treatment of nationality. Dorian Llywelyn forges a new approach, treating the nation as a form of culture. He addresses some key questions: How are the religious and national aspects of human identity connected? What does Catholic doctrine have to say about nationality and nationalism? Is there really such a thing as a Christian nation? Is Catholicism compatible with patriotism? Llywelyn’s wide-ranging book introduces the reader to contemporary approaches to nationality, nationality, national identity, nationalism and patriotism. Drawing from the insights of sociology, history, and anthropology, he investigates the many ways in which nationsand Christianity have intertwined and explores what scripture and twentieth-century papal teaching have to say on the matter. He provides an original, Catholic theology of national belonging, one which is based on the implications of the Incarnation. Examining popular devotions to the Virgin Mary as national patroness and drawing from the metaphysical acumen of the medieval thinker John Duns Scotus, Llywelyn argues for the theological value of nationality and proposes that global community and cultural and national diversity are mutually necessary values.

In the Bible against the Quran: The tree snake make her nest and eggs was there

O Nations: Come, hear and listen the Bible against the Quran (3)

This is the last of the series (1-3): "Nations Or: Come, hear and listen to the Bible against the Koran. "

In this they are the summary statements that the Lord The love of God wants all people to hear and listen.

In his anger against his conviction of the United Nations and United Nations, The love of the Lord God: 1) He is angry against all the nations, 2) His anger is about the armies of all nations, 3) It will totally destroy armies of all nations, 4) He will give you the armies of all nations at slaughter, 5) the dead of all nations will be thrown, 6) Organs all nations will send a stench, 7) Mountains are steeped in the blood of all nations, 8) the stars of heaven shall be dissolved, 9) Heaven rolled as parchment, 10) The host of stars will fall like dry leaves of the vine and wrinkled like the figs from the fig tree, 11) the sword of the Lord God has drunk its fill in heaven, but down to judge Edom, 12) the sword of the Lord is bathed in blood and covered with fat, 13), the Lord God sacrifice Bozrah and a great slaughter in Edom, 14) of the land of Edom was soaked in blood and dust of Edom will be soaked with fat, 15), the Lord God one day revenge and punishment of one year, 6) of Edom streams turned into pitch and dust of Edom will become a fire and brimstone, 17) the land of Edom burning pitch not off night and day, its smoke will rise forever, 18) In a generation in the country of Edom are bleak, nobody will go again.

In this article (3) love the Lord God said:

Grounds, then, the book of the LORD, and read: Neither of these fails

Find and read the book of the Lord: None of them are missing

In this we have two major problems:

1) "The book" Jehovah

2) "These" (Not one of them is or not).

1) Regarding "the" book the LORD, the question is:

Where in the Bible is the book of the Lord?

Where in the Bible is the book called the book of the Lord?

It is a very important issue.

Look at the books of the Bible:

How many books are in the Bible?
The
Protestant Bible contains 66 books (39 Old Testament, 27 NT)

The Catholic Bible contains 73 books (46 OT, 27 NT)

The Orthodox Bible contains 78 books (51 OT, 27 NT).

The Hebrew Bible contains only 24 pounds.

It is well known that each book of the Bible has a special name, for example, the book of Psalms, the Book of Isaiah, etc.

Without But there are many books that are mentioned in the Bible and the biblical books, but they are lost or misplaced and can not find, for example,

  • The Book of the Wars of the Lord
  • The prophet Nathan
  • The Book of Jasher,
  • Etc.

The interested reader can find more details on lost books of the Bible to read my article:

Twelve lost books of the Bible against the Quran, array (85)

Back to "The Book" of the Lord, is also lost? It has the same fate as the others have lost a dozen books?

2) In reference to "these" (Not one of "those" is or not).

These, hereinafter referred to as the Lord God, the prophecies concerning Edom.

In this, the Lord God Love gives some prophecies about Edom, which are:

The Lord God gave the land of Edom a legacy of beasts, dragons, owls, snakes, trees, vultures, falcons, the monster of the night, the desert creatures, etc. Therefore, Edom is sorry for ever and ever. No human being passes through it forever ever. It is well known that this prophecy never happened, and many people still live at home without any problem (s) of the country of Edom.

In addition, these are statements that God wants all countries to meet and listen

Allah said: "Men! We have created men and women of Adam and Eve, and God made you into nations and tribes that ye may know each other, communicate and cooperate moderation. The noblest in the afterlife (in the eyes of Allah on the Day of Judgement, (is the best in conduct) in the life of the world.

Lo! Allah is Knowing the status and lineage, it is the good of your work and standing before him, and aware of their inner thoughts.

Furthermore, God has no sword, He did not need a sword, it can still and do everything, everywhere and every time without a sword.

In addition, the country of Edom, and these prophecies are not present the same in the Koran.

In addition, the Qur'an throughout the book to call Allah, and not a prophecy in the Koran is not found or not.

16Seek and read in the book of the Lord: No one will miss, but none is without its partner. For the mouth of the LORD has commanded, and his Spirit has to meet them.

17 He cast lots for them, their hands a lot of them with the line and must possess to ever, from generation to generation who live there.

KJV

12They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none will be there, and all their princes are nothing.

14The beast of the desert shall also meet with the beasts of the island, and the cry satyr to his companion, an owl must also remain there, and found her a place to rest.

15There shall the owl nest and lay and hatch and gather under her shadow: the vultures are also met, each with its companion.

Exit 16Seek Book the LORD and read: "None of these fails, no one wants his companion to my mouth and ordered her mind they are locked.

17 and cast lots for them, and his hand has divided by the line: they have always, from generation to generation who live there.

Nations O Come, listen, and listen to the Quran (3)

Verse 49:13

QARIB:

People, we created a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes so that you can meet. of you with Allah is the nobler the most merciful. Allah is Knower, the Aware.

Shakir

O you men! We have created a man and a woman, and you tribes and families that you know each other, without no doubt the most honorable of you with Allah is the one among you most careful (of his duty), Allah is Knower, knowing

Pickthal:

Men! Here! We have created you male and female, and made you into nations and tribes that you may know each other. Behold it is the noblest of you in the eyes of Allah, the best of conduct. Behold Allah Knower, Aware.

Yusufali:

Men! We have created a single (pair) of male and female and made you into nations and tribes that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Yes, the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous. And Allah knows and knows well (with all controls (.

The meaning in the verse:

It is said that this verse was revealed about Bilal, the muezzin of the Prophet.

The muezzin calls to prayer.

The call to prayer five times a day.

Bilal was a black man, his faith was strong and the Prophet Muhammad loved him and gave him the opportunity and the honor of being the muezzin of the Prophet.

When Bilal made the call to prayer at Mecca after the conquest, a group of men said "Allah and His Messenger will not find anyone to call to prayer, but that flight. "

In response, Allah said: (Oh, men! We have created men and women) of Adam and Eve (and made you into nations and tribes that ye may know each other sparingly. Noble of you) in the afterlife, (In the eyes of Allah) on the Day of Judgement, (is the best in conduct) in the life of the world, which in this case is Bilal.

Lo! Allah Knowing their status is and lineage, it is the good of your work and standing before him, and aware of their inner thoughts.

This is the message that the Quran is the humanity and the nation to hear and listen.

This verse is the key stone that racism prohibited color discrimination and other forms of discrimination.

Once verse 49:13 was revealed, all Muslims Any other kind of discrimination of human resources.
