Lady Gaga is the stage name of Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. This leading American recording artist was born on March 28; 1986. At the age of 19, she was signed to Def Jam Record. But she was quickly dropped from it. After that she began to perform as a rock singer in New York City’s Lower East Side. Along with that she also worked at Interscope Records as the lyricist for various famous acts including Akon. After hearing her song Akon, convinced Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine to sign a joint deal with the label as well as with the Akon’s Kon Live Distribution label.
The debut album of Lady Gaga is The Fame. This album released in August 2008 was a tremendous success. It was appreciated with many positive reviews. It was listed as the top album in four countries. It was the foremost one in the U.S. Billboard Top Electronic Albums chart. “Just Dance” and “Poker Face” are the first two singles of the album. They were the international number one hits. “Just Dance” was also nominated for the Best Dance Recording at the 51st Grammy Awards. Lady Gaga boarded her first headlining tour, The Fame Ball Tour in 2009 after opening New Kids on the Block and Pussycat Dolls.
Rock singers like David Bowie and Queen and pop singers like Madonna and Michael Jackson are her inspirations. She is an admirer of fashion and she believes that it is an inevitable factor for her songwriting and concerts. She credits gay community for her mainstream success and supports them. She had sold over 20 million digital singles and more than four million albums across the world.
Gaga was born on March 28, 1986 as the eldest child to Italian American couple Joseph and Cynthia Germanotta in Yonkers, New York. She was set to join Juilliard School in Manhattan. But she attended a private Catholic School, Convent of the Sacred Heart. She started playing piano at the age of four. She wrote her first piano ballad at 13 and started performance at open mike nights at the age of 14. She obtained an early admission to the New York University’s Tisch School of Arts at her seventeen. She schooled music and improvised her song writing skills by composing essays and analytical papers pointed on topics like art, religion and socio political order. Later Gaga left the school to concentrate more on her musical career.
Lady Gaga and Kanye West’s Fame Kills Tour was cancelled. Exactly after two weeks, The Fame Singer has announced the dates for her solo expedition, the Monster Ball tour. The Monster Ball is designed by the Haus of Gaga for premiere in 2010 at the O2 Arena in London. Gaga announced in her official website that The Monster Ball would begin only on November 27 at Montreal due to the painstaking works and preparations. “The Monster Ball” will be a treat for the music lovers as it is a perfect compilation of multimedia artistic experience in the style of the pioneer ‘pop electro opera’.
